Artist Residency 2026
LA Tactile Lab is pleased to announce our annual Artist Residency, offering two artists a focused two-week residency in our downtown Los Angeles lab. The residency takes place August 8–22, 2026, and provides full access to our 1,000 sq ft interdisciplinary studio dedicated to tactile, material-based exploration.
During the residency, the lab becomes a shared studio for the selected artists. Artists-in-residence will receive training and access to LA Tactile Lab’s specialized equipment, supporting experimentation across textiles, sculpture, craft, design, and hybrid practices.

Floor looms

Tufting tools

Sink within the studio
The building is equipped with elevators and a freight elevator operated by building staff, allowing for the transport of large or heavy work.

Eligibility
This residency is open to emerging and mid-career artists working in material-based, experimental, or interdisciplinary practices. Artists may be local, national, or international, provided they can commit to the full residency period.
