Intro to Relief Covering the various possibilities of relief printing. This hands-on class is designed for beginners through those with extensive print related backgrounds. Participants will learn the basics of carving and printing for a relief surface and will be introduced to linoleum, soft cut, and wood as cutting substrates. Two color processes will be covered in addition to image transfers. The workshop will cover basic tools and safety, image planning and transfer, carving techniques, and inking. Participants will be taught hand printing approaches as well as printing with a press and press safety and setup. No prior printmaking experience necessary. All materials provided. The intention of this workshop is to explore traditional relief printmaking methodology while encouraging experimentation.

Cancellation Policy
Studio Policies Payment in full is needed at the time of registration. Student cancellations more than 4 weeks in advance of a workshop are fully refundable, minus a 20% processing fee. Cancellations 2-4 weeks in advance are 50% refundable, minus a 20% processing fee. There is no refund for cancellations made less than 2 weeks before the workshop. The only exception to this policy is if your spot can be filled from a waitlist, in which case you will receive your refund minus a 20% processing fee. If a workshop is cancelled by an Instructor for any reason you will receive a full refund, unless you prefer to apply your payment to another workshop.
