Service Description
In this workshop, participants will learn and apply basket-weaving techniques to create three-dimensional forms, structures, and vessels. The first day will begin with weaving a base and practicing various techniques using colored reeds, exploring how these methods can produce different patterns. The second day, participants will use techniques covered on day 1 to make their own project. We will investigate form and structure by examining sculptural basketwork from both historical and contemporary perspectives. The focus will be on learning basketry techniques to explore patterns, form, structure, and sculptural ideas. This workshop is ideal for artists looking to incorporate basket weaving into their work. It is also beginner-friendly for those interested in exploring a new craft. Bring your imaginative ideas and creative spirit! Each student will receive 2 lbs of reed to use during class and take home. Provided Materials: Reed, dye What to bring: scissors and packing tool, bag/box to transport your work/materials home. And any materials you are excited to experiment with in class. *Please note we work with wet materials, water, dyes, and tools. Hand, arm and finger dexterity is required for this class.

Cancellation Policy
Studio Policies Payment in full is needed at the time of registration. Student cancellations more than 4 weeks in advance of a workshop are fully refundable, minus a 20% processing fee. Cancellations 2-4 weeks in advance are 50% refundable, minus a 20% processing fee. There is no refund for cancellations made less than 2 weeks before the workshop. The only exception to this policy is if your spot can be filled from a waitlist, in which case you will receive your refund minus a 20% processing fee. If a workshop is cancelled by an Instructor for any reason you will receive a full refund, unless you prefer to apply your payment to another workshop.
